Worthing United

Welcome back after the Christmas break i bet you could"nt wait well the boots are back on and the goals are being put up again. Lancing kick off and the ball is pushed forward good run by Morgan who passes to Dylan but Worthing split it up and kicks the ball forward but a sturdy tackle by Daniel gets Lancing moving again and with just 7mins on the clock (I looked ha ha ) the ball is picked up in midfield by Dylan and a great pass to Todd who beats the defender for pace and has the net bulging 1-0 to Rangers.The kick off is pushed forward by Worthing and almost immediatly Worthing equalise but for a good save by Charlie,the corner comes over and this time the ball goes in the net for Worthing for the equaliser 1-1 now Worthing are getting the upper-hand in midfield and pass the ball well and increase the lead despite the desparing dive from Charlie 2-1 to Worthing.

Another corner to Worthing and L ancing clear it but the ball comes back in and after another 2 or 3 passes in midfield the ball goes into the Lancing area and Worthing go 3-1 up Lancing kick off and push the ball to Dylan who pushes the ball wide to Luke and then a nother good pass to Daniel the ball is crossed into the box and Todd,s outstretched leg just fails to connect BAD LUCK The ballis kicked up to midfield but the ball comes back and Todd is fouled just outside the box , a frree-kick to Lancing.

LUKE lines the ball up as the anticipation of the home crowd grows he takes the kick and the ball is perfectly placed over the wall and into the net GREAT GOAL LUKE one that that David Beckham would be proud of.2-3. As the game heads for half-time Worthing takes up the right wing and unchallenged the young lad puts a descent left foot shot pass Charlie,s dive to make it 2-4 at half-time.

P.S A little extra from the first half was when the ball came over from a Worthing corner the ball was going in until Aaron manages to stop the ball between hi knees and a round of applause for Aaron and fits of laughter from the spectator,s from both sides THEY ROARED SUBS- TOBY for CHARLIE MICHAEL for MORGAN

Worthing kick-off the second half and almost immediately increase their lead but a good save from Toby, the corner comes into the box and another good clearence by Aaron gives a little rest to the defenders as the ball goes up the field picked by Charlie who passes to Todd who takes it a little bit too far for a goal-kickas rthe ball goes down the field Daniel is called into action but a good tackle gets Daniel injured and has to go off SUB OWEN for DANIEL.

As the game continues Worthing press further forward and their midfield is now getting the upper hand and score 2 more quick goals to make it 2-6 Lancing.s heads drop and the committment takes a drop and their tackles are not as strong as they were in the first half but they do push forward and keep the Worthing goal-keeper busy for 5 mins getting 3 corners in succession and with a few shots coming in from Charlie Ollie and Luke.

The game continues as Worthing push forward and increase their lead with 2 more goals with some more good more midfield play and the forwards find very easy to get beyond the Lancing defence to make the score 2-8.

The game kicks-off and Lancing push forward as though they have a second wind and good play from Todd Dylan and Charlie results with 3 shots going at the goal-keeper and the 3rd from Charlie making the score 3-8 And from the kick-off Worthing go down the other end to make it 3-9.

Asthe game moves to the final whistle Lancing push forward one last time and Todd squares a lovely ball across the centre and Charlie scores to make the score 4-9 another 2 moves and a shot from Luke which comes to nothing ends the game and was played in a very sporting manner.

Report on Sunday 20th September

Rangers corners – 8 / Worthing corners – 3

Today’s match was held at Lancing College on a very nice Sunny day. For this match the Referee was Jamie Howick and the subs for the first half was Luke, Todd, Owen and Morgan and the captain was Danial Bunby.

The game started with a Lancing Rangers kick off and there were lovely passes from both teams, Worthing were all going to get the ball so lancing cleared out for Worthing to gain the first throw. Daniel Jones was the goal keeper for Lancing and Worthing tried to score but with an amazing save they were thwarted ,then Dillon on the counter tried to score for his team and didn’t quite get there but there was a lot of aiming but not a lot of shooting at this point! Lancing gained the first corner of the first half and Ollie took it and it came out for a second corner, which was sent over perfectly for Dylan to score the first goal of the game. As the game continues lancing are awarded with a free kick by Aaron and then went through with a throw for Worthing, then all of a sudden the ball went forward, and with great communication and skills Michael scored the second goal. With great sportsmanship,Toby offered to play with Worthing to make up numbers so he was their goalkeeper. The game continued with a goal kick for lancing by Daniel, the ball was pushed forward with some good passing resulting with Dylan scoring his second goal of the game. As the game continued with good communication with Dylan and Michael it ended up with Michael scoring the 3rd goal of the game. As there was good tackling in midfield and passing Ollie went straight threw with the ball and made a shot but with Toby there he saved a great shot, after a good kick from Toby lancing cleared the ball for Worthing throw. Worthing and Lancing both having great vision they knew when to kick and were to pass and they were clearing the ball at good times. With Worthing feeling the pressure they really went for a goal but Aaron was in there and cleared for a Worthing corner, then there were changes for Worthing and then a lancing corner from Ollie it was a very good corner it came over to Aaron he took a shot but it went wide. As the game continued both teams became committed in midfield landing with a free kick for lancing, which Aaron took but came to nothing. As lancing pushed forward Dylan made an excellent tackle to push forward but came to nothing. There were great saves through out the game by lancing and Worthing goalkeepers with Danial Bunby taking a shot it went to a corner for lancing.

For the start of the second half Toby was now back on his team to fill in as goalkeeper minutes afterwards there was a slight delay with Todd having the ball kicked in the face but he then went back on after a nose bleed and carried on trying his best, following Worthing’s free kick the ball was cleared out of lancing defence by Aaron. Then there was a substitution with Aaron off and Owen on. From a good tackle by Dylan the ball went out to a throw to lancing, Owen took it and Dylan scored his third goal ( hatrick) and lancing 5th. There was a very good pass by Todd to Dylan but Worthing made a tackle. With all the effort that both teams were putting in Lancing was really getting into it. There was a great chance for another goal from lancing but with three other people in the goal area the ball went over the bar. There was a slight confusion with the 6th goal from Dylan but was counted with a round of applause. With Worthing really trying there hardest they tried to shoot but with Toby great effort he saved it and gave a Worthing corner. With Worthing really trying to get back into the game they were showing that they had their heads up. At that point there were lots of corners resulting that Todd tried to score but tripped over resulting nothing. There were a lot of communication at this point and loads of good throws made by the boys with a clearance by Worthing, lancing gained a corner made by Luke resulting Owens first goal of the game 7-0. another substitution made with sub Charlie going into defence. There was a very good save by Toby from a Worthing attack but with lancing carrying on Dylan scored another goal with a perfect pass from Todd. When the ball was pushed forward from the Worthing defence Owen was showing off by making a clearance by kicking the ball 40 metres into the air into the Worthing half with a round of applause from the spectators!! And to round the game off Owens pass resulted in Dylan scoring his 5th goal and lancing 8th.

With an excellent game from all players the man of the match this week was Dylan for a great performance.

Today’s match at Lancing College is a sell out with both sets of supporters making themselves heard before the kick-off. Worthing kick-off with Dylan getting involved straight away ..a throw in to Lancing and Aaron clears up field .A good run from Morgan but it goes out for a goal-kick ,the match has developed into a few deadballs at the moment so not much activity on the field. A throw is pushed forward and Luke takes a shot on goal but it is saved and goes for a corner for Lancing .Luke takes the corner and the keeper saves well, Lancing still pressurise Worthing in midfield as they push the ball up field and then the ball comes back, Aaron clears the ball ,then a shot from Morgan goes just past the post.The Worthing goal kick is taken and is pushed through midfield very cleverly to the attack and resulting in Worthing taking the lead 0-1. Lancing are put under a bit of pressure from Worthing for the next couple of minutes or so but they deal with it very well with Morgan bringing the ball up field ,good ball to Luke but goes out for a throw and the game continues.With a goal kick the ball goes up field to a great tackle by Aaron, and Luke gets the midfield working with a few passes involving Daniel, Dylan and Owen but Worthing gets the ball back and a good kick at an angle for a goal kick .Toby takes the goal kick but it does’nt go far and when it comes back Worthing scores again to make it 2-0 to Worhing .Yet again the team are working as a unit but Worthing win the ball in midfield and a good shot from the opposition puts Worthing 3-0 up .Lancing kick off and pushes the ball up field for Morgan and Dylan to pick it up , but he ball gets defended well and it goes for a goalkick. .Lancing take the goal kick and the ball is picked up by Morgan who has a go from 12 yards but is just over the bar. The ball is contested in midfield and Daniel pushes the ball into the penalty area where Dylan is brought down PENALTY!!! the crowd roared .Morgan steps up and confidently puts it to the keepers right 1-3 Dylan works hard in midfield and a beautiful pass to Morgan who slots his second and Lancing second goal 2-3 Lancing continue to pressure Worthing for the equaliser, with a long throw the ball goes into the box then a scramble with a lot legs.... like watching pinball but eventually goes out for a throw to Lancing.The ball is thrown in and kicked up field and Toby makes decent save from a Worthing forward ,again Aaron who is having a splendid game makes a tackle and Owen brings the ball out to Luke who passes up field and Dylan scores the equaliser.... what a come-back!!!! .Daniel J make a pass but the keeper makes a save from Luke the ball is still not defended and again the keeper makes a save from Daniel J ,as the game carries on towards half time the ball goes from a goal kick up field from Worthing the ball comes back and a pass between Morgan and Dylan results in Dylan putting Lancing in the lead for the first time 4-3

SUBS- DYLAN MORGAN OFF TODD –CHARLIE ON

The second half kicks off and Aaron and Charlie work hard in midfield but Worthing take over and push forward and Worthing score to square things up again 4-4. This is turning into a goal feast, are there any more to come the editor wonders? the crowd are shouting their approval for there respective teams, the ball goes towards the midfield and Todd wins the tackle and lays it off to Luke but the ball goes to the other end forcing Daniel J to make a good parry but unfortunately Worthing score from the rebound 4-5.A corner to Lancing and Luke delivers a good ball in the centre but is cleared for a throw, the ball goes back and forward and there are a lot of throws so no real pattern to the game .The ball is punted into the Lancing defence and Daniel pulls off a good save. The game is stopped while the referee has a word with Aaron about something and is very stern with him .Lancing put more pressure on the Worthing defence for the equaliser and a corner is won the corner is taken by Luke but comes to nothing.

Subs-TOBY AARON OFF DYLAN MORGAN ON

Charlie puts in a good tackle and a great pass to Morgan who in turn sets up a lovely ball and Todd scores the equaliser again 5-5 .A good run from Dylan results in corner ,Luke takes the corner and Owen puts it just pass the post.. bad luck !!..A rare attack by Worthing which fizzles out to nothing but then another attack and the ball is crossed into the area and wrong foots Daniel J and scores 5-6 A shot comes in from Dylan but Todd cannot get on the end of it, and it goes for a corner ,Luke takes the corner as it comes in amongst feet Owen hits a beauty the crowd go mad The ball goes up field for Worthing but goes for a throw in.From the throw in Morgan hits the bar and the ball goes for a goal kick Charlie makes a tackle but concedes a foul.The referre blows and all involved cheer the warriors off the field.
