Our Under 15 squad was managed by Ian Cude for this season which was played in Division C of the Arun & Chichester Youth Football League.
The season started off with a 4-1 loss at home to Worthing Dynamos Youth, Lewis Bartlett scoring the consolation for the home side. However, 4 points out of their next 2 games saw the Under 15s beating Worthing Minors Athletic 2-0 away from home (Ryan Dawkins x2) followed by a 0-0 away draw with Ferring at the end of September.
October was a struggle for the players with a 2-1 loss at home to Felpham Colts Yellow (Jack Cude), a 4-1 away loss to Felpham Colts Blue (Lewis Bartlett), a 2-1 home loss to Bosham (Jack Cude) and a 7-2 away defeat to Worthing Town Black (Jack Cude). A winless October was miserably rounded off with a home defeat to rivals Lancing Rangers Select with Ryan Dawkins scoring the late consolation.
Following the November lockdown our Under 14s lost out to Felpham Colts Blue 12-1 (Jack Cude) finishing the season on the 20th December away to Worthing Dynamos Youth were they were defeated 3-0.
A disappointing season with only 4 points achieved all season, however Ian is confident that months of training and preparation with his squad during the summer months they will perform much better next season.
After we got the green light for football to start the 20/21 Season, we approached it full of enthusiasm and raring to go! Whilst we have been able to recently play and train as normal, our last competitive match was just before Christmas! We actually had 10 League Matches, which is a lot more than some teams were able to , so we were very thankful for that.
With a solid pre-season training we went into the matches fitter and stronger than previous years. The boys played really well in every match, but we struggled to find the net even though we created lots of chances. Unfortunately Lady Luck deserted us!
Whilst struggling to win matches could've been detrimental to the team as a whole, to their credit if anything it has galvanised them and boosted their commitment to work together more.
When we came back in April we were able to play a few friendlies and we looked more like our old selves. We now have a solid platform to build on looking forward to next season.
Thanks to Ryan for all his help coaching. Thanks to Rachel for helping with the admin. Thanks also to all the parents for your continued support.
So as you read this, we are hopefully celebrating England winning Euro 2020!!
But the best thing is that the new season is nearly here!
Over the season all managers choose two players from their squad to win awards; the first being the Most Improved Player which was awarded to Harrison Holt:
The second was awarded to Isaac Hodge as Managers Player:
