Meet the Club Committee Members

Danny Bonwick

Chairman & U14 Manager

I have been involved with lancing rangers since 1988 as a player all the way through to u17s, I also managed a squad at the same time. Once I stopped playing I continued with managing and also held several roles on the committee, including being part of the club's very first 6 a side tournament.

I stepped away from the club for a spell to focus on starting a family. Then my youngest son, Oliver, wanted to play football and so obviously there was really only one club he was going to play for!

Fast forward 9 years and I am still managing his squad and have taken on the role of Chairman. If you see me at training or matches, please come and introduce yourself.

I joined the Committee as Club Welfare Officer (CWO) around 2 years ago, my main responsibilities are.

  • Ensure compliance with the safer recruitment practices, including DBS checks for all volunteers.

  • Ensure concerns are dealt with swiftly and in line with The FA's safeguarding policy.

  • Monitor incidents of poor behaviour and liaise with the committee, and if necessary the Sussex County FA Welfare Team

If you have any safeguarding concerns please feel free to come and chat to me in person at any training session.

Results Secretary &

U12 &  Wildcats Coach

My role as Results Secretary means I check every week that the results of all Lancing Rangers games have been provided to the ACYFL league. I took on this role a year into managing my son's team in 2017, I didn't know if still be with them now. Last November I was one of the coaches that founded our Wildcats squad, giving an introduction to football for the girls in our community. I have also helped to organise our recent presentation evenings.

I'd encourage anyone who thinks they can give some time to their child's squad or the wider club to do so, it's incredibly rewarding seeing our children enjoy their football.

Spencer Cannon

Club Secretary

As Secretary, I am the main administrator for the club. I am responsible for taking minutes of all club meetings alongside organising and distributing club correspondence.
I currently maintain contact between the club, the FA and the league, attending meetings and ensuring our affiliation with those organisations are kept up to date with the relevant requirements.
It all started when my son joined Lancing Rangers at the age of 5 and I came along like every
other parent to watch and encourage him. When his team reached U10 the manager
moved on, so myself and another parent stepped up to take on managing and coaching the team – a process fully supported and aided by the club.

From there I became more and more involved, joining the committee and helping wherever I was needed to now 10 years on finding myself as Secretary!

Though my son has now stopped playing he has moved into coaching, together with my daughter, they assist in the U6 & U7 teams. I continue to help with the U16’s.

Shelley Day

Committee Member

Having had a child at Lancing Rangers since the U6 age group through to the current U9's, I felt it was time to give something back to the club.

I assist the U9's Coach at training sessions and on match days - mainly tying shoe laces, rehoming lost kit and making sure the children have everything they need!
